rpsc diagram Kemlon RPSC glass sealed feedthrus consist of a pin, a ceramic insulator, a threaded body, and glass all sealed togeather to make a hermetically sealed electrical connector.  As with some other Kemtites the ceramic insulator reinforces the glass and extends the insulation.  The ceramic insulator is composed of 99% Aluminum Oxide.  The RPSC Kemtite uses a rubber "O" ring to make the external high pressure seal.  The "O" ring is positioned in the grooves of the metal body.  When the feedthru is squeezed into the mounting bore, the "O" ring is squeezed into compression to make a seal.

RPSC Kemtites are designed to be used with pressure on the same side as the thread, which is the reverse of the other Kemlon glass sealed feedthrus.  This enables the feedthru to be mounted to the outside of a pressure vessel which has internal pressure.  RPSC Kemtites work well in oil systems.  Like BMS feedthrus the temperature rating is limited by the temperature rating of the "O" ring in the oil environment.
